The far west of Cornwall, the little triangle between Penzance, St Ives and Land’s End, is one of those thin-veil places. This area has one of the densest concentrations of megalithic sites in Europe.
Together we’ll explore the stone circles, holy wells, coastpath and coves of this magical area, after starting each day with some quiet writing and the inspiration of some poetry of place. In the spirit of pilgrimage, each walk will be in shared silence, but the afternoon sessions will be given over to guided writing, and the evenings to reading back our own poetic responses.
These days are about bringing a kind of imaginative and poetic attention and relationship to the spirit of place and its inhabitants as we walk, finding ways to explore and express it all creatively. Think convergence of landscape and inscape.
I see this retreat as being about bringing a kind of imaginative and poetic attention and relationship to the spirit of place and its inhabitants as we walk through this wonderful land, finding ways to explore and express it all creatively.
There is a labyrinth in the grounds of Boswedden House which we will no doubt walk, and also a pool and sauna available at certain times.
