Meet our Family
Thelma Griffiths has 20 years experience working as a Transpersonal Psychotherapist and Group Trainer. She trained at the Centre for Counselling & Psychotherapy Education (CCPE) and at the University of Surrey. Thelma has worked with the NHS and Social Services, running personal development courses and counselling training courses.
Her work with individuals is client-centred and transpersonal in approach. “The focus of my work is to help the person connect with their own wonderful uniqueness and to feel free and confident in expressing their own life purpose.”
In creating the project at Boswedden House, our vision is to provide a place where people can be nurtured in body, soul and spirit. We live in a very special part of Cornwall, wild and elemental and the etheric quality of the light helps people connect back with nature and their core self. The area attracts many healers and artists and our vision has been to create a spiritual centre and resource for the local community and also a place where people visiting Cornwall can find the resources they need to rest, reconnect and revitalise.
I live in constant awe and gratitude for being able to meet so many amazing people, wise and strong healers find their way here. I watch the flow that is brought to Boswedden and the deep connections that people find with others here. It is very humbling and exciting.
I feel I have found my home and my soul family here and am deeply grateful and want to share this with others.
Nigel Nathan had an engineering career in measurement and control systems, did Primal work with Arthur Janov, trained with Sarah Thomas in Holistic Massage and with Joanna Macy in Deep Ecology work – facilitating Councils of All Beings.
He has been a volunteer with the Social Services, working with the mentally ill, and a counsellor with Victim Support. He is a co-counselling teacher, experienced facilitator and an active musician.
On his return from living in the USA, he experienced the wild winter weather near the Land’s End and was attracted to the elemental rawness of the water/sea/air/light interactions in this area. After unsuccessful attempts to form or join a like-minded intentional community, he and Thelma decided to go it alone. Coming down the road to view Boswedden House for the first time, he felt “this is where I want to be” and this feeling has been confirmed time and again. And now we have our own quasi-community and a place in which to observe and celebrate the turning of the wheel of the year.
Ali has an intense love of gypsy jazz and Django Reinhardt. She plays the guitar and likes dancing around the kitchen to loud music
Sari is our 8 year old feline hunter (our cat) who loves life (and food!)
We are humbled here to have such wonderful, friendly and dedicated staff! Across all aspects of the B&B and Retreat Centre – from cooking, cleaning, property maintenance and hospitality, our staff are more than employees, they are our freinds and community and help to make the difference for our visitors experience.
During your stay you’ll also see a number of friendly faces from our community here who frequently come to Boswedden to help out and get involved.
